We had a busy weekend! Auntie Lynn and family gave Jaime a bounce house for Christmas (it took up a whole suitcase by itself) but before we could put it up, we had to rake away the leaves and sticks in the backyard. This involved, of course, buying a rake. Where do you buy a rake in January? That was a big mystery. I finally found one in Walmart (they didn't have one the day before) among the spring things they were just putting out. Naturally, we had to buy one for Jaime, too. She loves to help.

Our backyard isn't that big but there were a lot of leaves. I'm not sure what kind of trees we have but one of them has leaves that are 8 inches across! Those are hard to rake. The entire yard was covered with leaves. We didn't finish but we still filled up 5 huge bags.

While I was raking along the side, I found what was either the biggest worm I've ever seen or a little snake. Creeped me out when I put the leaves in the bags but I guess whatever the critter was went on his way.

So, without further ado, I bring you the Schultz's backyard with slide and bouncer (by the way, the next backyard purchase is going to be for Mommy!)....

This is how our backyard looks now. There's still some raking to do along the fence but we got most of it done.  Posted by Hello

I still love my slide. It's a lot of fun to play on after school and on weekends. Posted by Hello

Howdy from the top of the slide! Posted by Hello

I can go down my own slide on my tummy. They won't let me do this at school... Posted by Hello

I like to be creative in how I use my slide. It would be boring to just go up the ladder and down the slide so I do a little flip over the bar... Posted by Hello

Just a little push off with the feet... Posted by Hello

....And, over the top.... Posted by Hello

After the leaves were raked, I decided to jump in them a little. It's okay. Mommy raked them up again. She didn't mind. Really. Posted by Hello

Sometimes I like to pretend I'm a kitty. This shirt really helps. Posted by Hello

Welcome to my castle... Posted by Hello

Thanks, Auntie Lynn! Posted by Hello

You! Put down the camera and step away from the bouncer! Posted by Hello

Time for a little break...Mommy, fetch me my milk. Posted by Hello

Must I do EVERYTHING myself?? Posted by Hello

Mommy said these things are for defending the castle. Guess I whack the bad guys over the head with it. Posted by Hello

And after you're done fighting off the bad guys, you can ride it off into the sunset. Posted by Hello

Nobody said you HAD to go in the door. Posted by Hello

This thing's kind of like jail...getting in is a whole lot easier than getting out. Posted by Hello

After a hard day playing and raking, a refreshing glass of milk hits the spot. Posted by Hello

Until next time....bye bye! Posted by Hello
