No pictures today Yes, I know that's disappointing to everybody because you just can never have too many pictures of Jaime, right? :) But I'm here in a class today with no access to my ftp site and don't have the photos with me.

Jaime and Mommy Day was kind of a bust this week. We had thunderstorms and rain and high winds and what do you do with a 2 year old on a day like that? Well...you go shopping, of course! So we did our shopping but, aside from Sam's Club, it wasn't all that much fun. When we go into Sam's the first thing Jaime says is, "Cookie!" for the man from the bakery who hands out samples of cookies. He's begun giving Jaime a whole cookie instead of just pieces. Did I mention she's a charmer?

Dinner at the Outback. Mommy likes having dinner there because they have good food and take good care of you. Jaime loves the blooming onions - I know, a 2 year old who loves onions is strange but it's the truth. Unfortunately, we had to leave before the food came because someone was misbehaving and it wasn't me. I'm pretty strict about that. If Jaime's disturbing other people who are trying to have dinner, then we have to go. I don't mind her socializing with people, Saturday she kept making kissy faces at the waiter (he was pretty cute) and she likes to touch people's arms as they walk by (I usually try to discourage that but hey, it's not hurting anything) but she may not throw toys, crayons, cups, etc or kick and scream. Usually she behaves very well, she colors or plays with those little wire and bead toys (do they have a name?) but this weekend she was just plain naughty.

I asked to have our food boxed up and the cutie waiter brought it to us in one of the takeout bags that Outback uses. They're like big, brown shopping bags, nearly as tall as Jaime. Jaime insisted on carrying the bag out.

So, picture this. Not very happy, terribly determined, teeny tiny 2 year old girl, head down, dragging a huge shopping bag full of food behind her and stomping through the restaurant and out the front door. Needless to say, there was plenty of laughter behind her and I hope that anyone we disturbed while we were there cheered up when they saw her walk by. And, big and heavy as that bag was, she never gave up. She wouldn't even let me "help" her carry it out to the car. She did it all herself. That's my girl!

I think the ear infection is getting better. She slept much better last night. Poor, little thing looks so helpless when she's sick but she knows it and plays it for everything it's worth.

We have a little game we play all day long. Mommy says, "Did I tell you today that I love you?" and Jaime nods her head (or sometimes she says no and we remedy that really fast.) Then I say, "Can I tell you again?" And she says, "Love you!" or what I think is supposed to mean that (you won't convince me otherwise so don't try!) Then Mommy says, "I love you!" and there are lots of hugs, kisses and tickles exchanged. She's talking so much now and playing that game really helps, I think. Besides, it makes us both feel good :)

Class starts at 8:30 so I have to get going...I'll try to upload some more photos very soon.
