It's almost Halloween so it's time to start wearing the Halloween clothes. Jaime picked this one out today, I think because she's so excited about carving her first jack o'lantern. I bought a couple of pumpkins yesterday as well as some of those pumpkin looking gourds to paint.
Okay, Mommy, there are three pumpkins on this shirt. One....

Check out the new clothes! Another of the fine products from the Oshkosh Outlet store - well, the pants came from Walmart.

Hey! It's got a HOOD! Once Jaime figured this out, she wanted to wear it all the time. She kept pulling it over her face so she couldn't see. After running into a few walls, she decided she wouldn't wear it any more.

Since we were dressed for it, we made a jack o'lantern. I wish I'd gotten a picture of the look on Jaime's face the first time she dived into those pumpkin guts but I was too busy keeping her away from the knife. Jaime always wants to "help."" She pulled out a little chunk, smelled it, made a face, then put it in the bowl. You could tell she was wondering what THIS stuff was :)
The finished product. Jaime said she wanted a crankous jack o'lantern and even showed me the face. I'm no artist but he looks crankous to me.

In the afternoon, we went to the "Texas Snow Fest". Turns out they made a whole bunch of snow, cranked up the a/c and had a bunch of activities. There was a big snow slide that you could ride down on a tube. Of course, Jaime had to do it. I didn't get a picture of her because I had to fight my way through everyone in line to get to the bottom before she did. There was, however, someone taking pictures and they're supposed to email them out so...maybe....
For $5 you could buy an ice chest full of snow to play in. Actually, you were supposed to make a snowman but Jaime didn't have any mittens so we pretty much just played in it. These guys were working full time at it. The money went to the local food shelf so I guess it was okay.

After a very busy Saturday, we decided to tone Sunday down a little bit. We started out spending Sunday morning in the park. There were quite a few other kids there for a change so Jaime had fun playing with them.
We did have a little bit of an accident just before we left. For some reason, Jaime decided it might be fun to see what would happen if she rode her "bike" into a cement wall, full blast. It wasn't pretty. Fortunately, she had her helmet on but she did manage to scrape her arm and knee. I sincerely hope she doesn't do that again.
Welcome to our Sunday!

A lady comes to the park with two huge, gentle dogs; a Rotty and a Chow. Jaime loves these two dogs and they love the attention she gives them. The first few times, I got a little nervous but the dogs have proven to be very kid friendly, especially the Rotty.

Sunday afternoon was spent at The Red Barn (it's sort of a small, garden store) where they had a Halloween festival with a hay jump, some farm animals in a petting zoo and Mr. Puppet (though we never got to see Mr. Puppet.)
Let's just see how far I can THROW this pumpkin, shall we? Trust me, she did throw the pumpkin. Fortunately, it didn't break so I didn't have to buy it.
