Okay, I've been bad again but I do have an excuse. She's 2, blonde, brown-eyed and very active :) Sometimes I just don't have the time to blog but I hope we didn't lose too much of the audience.

I'm also having trouble with the photo stuff. Seems my Road Runner account only allows for 5MB of space on my ftp. Well, gee. How many photos can you get in 5MB of space? Not that many when you have aforementioned "excuse" :) My ftp is almost full so I can't put any more photos up for a while.

The other problem is (do I sound like I'm whining?) our firewall at work. They're trying to make the network secure and still allow us access to the things we need but so far the two are not co-existing. So, while I can blog from work, I can't attach photos. I can attach photos from home but I never seem to have time to blog there.

But I'm very excited because Blogger, Blogspot and something called "Hello" are teaming up to allow photo storage for Blogger users! Yee Haw! Now, if I could just get to their secure site to download it...maybe next week. Until then, no photos. You can stop reading now if you're here for the pictures :)

We've had a very, very eventful couple of weeks. We went up north to celebrate Erica's graduation. Jaime was so excited to fly on "the big airplane" to visit Grandma and Grandpa. And, I have to say it, she was just a dream traveler.

She took her "pretty, pretty princess" suitcase and pulled it through the airports all by herself. It raised many eyebrows, got more than a few laughs and even more grins and comments of "isn't that cute?" The suitcase is purple with the Disney princesses on it and almost as big as Jaime herself. But she insisted and I was fine with that.

No sleeping on the planes, though. Only a little crying when the seatbelts were needed and for the first time, she looked out the windows. How exciting is that? We got to see a beautiful light show from the lightening coming home.

I have a few comments for the folks at Northwest Airlines (like they read this.)

1. Get rid of the "Buy on Board" meals. No one is going to pay $5 for a croissant sandwich and a bag of crackers unless they're really, really hungry. Just bump the price of the tickets up $5 and give us the food like you used to. We'll never notice and it looks like you're feeding people again.

2. Chewy granola bars are supposed to be...well...chewy. Not hard. Might want to check those expiration dates.

3. Give the kids something to do. How much does it cost to have a little book or coloring book made? They do it at IHOP, surely NWA can spring for the extra couple of pennies.

4. When a child's age is listed as less than about 12, try to seat the parent and the child in the same row.

5. It's a good idea to seat all the small children in the same general area. Then the screaming and crying doesn't bother the other passengers. First class would be good. Okay, that's a blatant pitch for free upgrades :)

6. On the good side, I was very happy to see the flight attendant was not a Barbie clone! She was in her late 50s to early 60s, a little pudgy and had low heels. She also knew what it was like to travel with a child because she had some of her own. Bravo!

Okay, enough of that.

After 5 days of traveling and visiting, we're back home to our normal routine. The temperature change between northern Minnesota and central Texas was a bit extreme but I just turned up the A/C and we're feeling like Minnesotans again, you betcha. Tuesday it was 102. Yesterday, 96.

So, rather than just coop ourselves up in the air conditioned apartment yesterday, we went for a swim. Jaime is a certified tadpole. She just loves the water. We spent a good hour trekking to and from the pool and just splashing and playing in the water. Jaime slept really, really well last night :) Hopefully we can do that again soon but it's just much easier on the weekends because we have more time.

Next post...photos...I hope :)
